Alexis Santos cofounded Open Door Meditation Community. He started his meditation and mindfulness practice in 2001. His primary teacher is Sayadaw U Tejaniya, from the Burmese Theravada tradition with whom he ordained as a Buddhist monk from 2003 - 2005. Beau Demkar has been practicing meditation for 20 years, including about two years of cumulative time spent in intensive retreat. Ten years ago, he began teaching the dharma and has found this to be an integral and joyful part of the path.

Chas DiCapua, the guiding teacher for Open Door, leads our weekly sits and many of our retreats. Chas has been practicing Buddhist meditation, primarily in the Early Buddhist tradition, for over 30 years. His practice and study include the IMS/Spirit Rock teacher training program and over two years in silent, intensive meditation retreat.

devon hase began meditation training in 2000. She practices intensively in the Insight and Vajrayana traditions and currently teaches at the Insight Meditation Society, Spirit Rock, and other centers. Julia Gooding has practiced in various Buddhist traditions since 2004 and settled in the Vipassana tradition. She is a graduate of the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield and is currently in the Inward Bound Mindfulness teacher training. She seeks joy and wisdom in daily life and heart practices.

Lynn Teo has been teaching embodied movement and meditation for over 25 years and now teaches in the Insight tradition. As a clinician, Lynn combines acupuncture, shiatsu, and Somatic Experiencing ®. A deep believer in Sangha and belonging, she empowers community members (in particular helpers, healers, artists, activists, and people of color) with embodied practices of radical rest, resilience, and trauma/burnout recovery. nico hase lived in a monastery for six years before earning a PhD in counseling psychology and becoming an Insight Meditation teacher full time. He currently mentors mindfulness teachers, teaches online and in-person retreats, and speaks with students in one-on-one sessions. Phoenix Soleil is a teacher and practitioner of Insight Meditation and Nonviolent Communication (NVC). She is a Partner/Worker-Owner at LIFT Economy where she offers communication, racial justice, and meditation training. Susa Talan is a Dharma Leader who cofounded Open Door Meditation Community. She has studied and practiced Insight Meditation since 2006 and is a long-time student of Sayadaw U Tejaniya with whom she temporarily ordained in 2010. Trisha Bauman has practiced various mindfulness and Buddhist traditions over several decades, with close mentoring from Trudy Goodman, PhD. Trisha teaches mindfulness in diverse communities around the world. She is an ISMETA Master Somatic Educator/Therapist & Mentor and a graduate of the inaugural MMTCP teacher training with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.

Ursula Munro teaches mindfulness meditation and compassion-based practices in the Vipassana tradition, which help people quiet their minds and live with increased ease along the path of liberation. She has been practicing meditation for 12 years and is a graduate of the two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.

Yenkuei Chuang 莊琰珪 (she/her) lives near Boston, MA. As an immigrant woman of color, she is  interested in building a beloved inclusive community. Yenkuei began her dharma practice with Zen Masters Thich Nhat Hanh and Sr. Annabelle in 1998 and since 2013 has studied Vipassana and Early Buddhism at the Insight Meditation Society and Barre Center for Buddhist Studies. In addition to teaching mindfulness meditation and facilitating sanghas, Yenkuei works as a licensed psychologist. She enjoys cooking, dancing, and being a mother to her four children.
