Groups and Classes

Sutta Study with Adam Pepi
We will read through suttas (original teachings from the Buddha passed down orally and by text) and discuss how to apply them to our daily lives. Participants are welcome to join for as many or as few sessions as desired.

Introduction to Insight Dialogue “Pause and Relax” with Yenkuei Chuang and Amy Bird
Insight Dialogue is an interpersonal practice rooted in silent Vipassana meditation and shares the same intention of developing liberative presence, compassion and wisdom.

Parenting with the Dharma
This group is dedicated to sharing what is alive for us in our parenting and caregiving practice.

BIPOC Circle with Lynn Teo
Join our BIPOC community to slow down, rest, practice and connect. This gathering will offer practices of deep nurturing and self-compassion for building nervous system capacity. We’ll create an embodied sense of Sangha (community) to practice in Circle, co-create a culture of belonging and allow wisdom to emerge from the collective. Together we'll rest, dream, move, journal, connect, share and deeply listen to ourselves and each other.

Parenting with the Dharma
The circle of six parents, plus one precious toddler, met for the first time the morning of Tuesday, November 5th. We discussed scheduling, sat together, shared some parenting challenges, and had some laughs. We all agreed Everyday Blessings: The Inner Work of Mindful Parenting by Myla & Jon Kabat-Zinn would be a good book for the group to discuss.

New Book Groups
Small group study provides opportunities for each of us to deepen our practice through reading and discussing texts with other sangha members. It also provides a way for people to get to know each other better and develop deeper relationships.
Open Door has recently organized new book groups. If you would like more information about joining a book group, please email Jeri Sides.
