Topic: Moving Toward Unconditioned Freedom

One of the central explorations in Dharma practice is coming to know the way in which our experience arises due to causes and conditions. This helps us learn how to work skillfully with these conditions so we can move increasingly towards a more unconditional freedom. One of the most powerful forms of social conditioning that we inherit as human beings comes through our gender identities.

On this day of practice and reflection we will use the tools of wisdom and compassion to investigate the ways in which masculinity shows up both internally and externally, and how to come into a wise relationship with it. More generally, this will simply be a time to gather amongst other men with the beautiful intention of deepening our practice in the presence and support of one another, for our own benefit, and for the benefit of others.

*We recognize that gender is a spectrum and that there is fluidity within that space. Without trying to create hard boundaries, we are aiming to create an affinity space for folks who share a certain predominant identity to be together. This retreat is open to anyone who self-identifies as a man.
